Best periods to enjoy the beaches in Cannes

Most beaches, whether private or public, welcome the first sun-seekers from May to October. In May, however, beaches are still sparsely populated. Only a few people brave the cool water and attempt to swim, since the sea temperature in Cannes is often cool.

The busiest period corresponds to the school holidays, in July and August. For good reason: all climatic conditions come together for a pleasant stay — sunshine ideal for relaxing and tanning, sea temperatures that provide a comfortable feeling, and pleasantly warm air.

March and April see an improvement in Cannes's climate. Even if April is pleasant, reserve relaxation for a stroll on La Croisette, as the water is still too cold for swimming.
